TourTurf® Thatch-Less® Enzyme Thatch Degrader (ETD) is a biological thatch degrader, which contains 15% cellulase enzymes (>250 UA/g), 2% plant sugar, 2% wetting agent, 5% seaweed and 4 different cellulase producing microorganisms (5×109 cfu/ml), effectively reducing the amount of dead organic matter (thatch) in sports turf. Thatch consists of 25% lignin and 75% cellulose and hemicellulose.
Without an extra biological effort it is difficult to get the components of the thatch degraded in the root zone.
The interaction between microorganisms and enzymes in this biological product degrades the thatch to nutrients, sugars and humus. The 4 different beneficial strains of plant associated “hub” microorganisms are Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus licheniformis, Bacillus amyloliquefaciens and Bacillus pumilus.
A solution developed for biological thatch control by Danish and British experts.
